Austrian cuisine and recipes

For many centuries, Austria was the center of the Habsburg monarchy. This multi-ethnic empire fall, at different times, not only for themselves but also neighboring Hungary, Austria, parts of Germany and Italy, now in the czech Republic. and extended in the Balkans. The empire finally collapsed in 1918, at the end of World War II, but Germany (especially Bavaria), Hungarian, Italian, Eastern European, Jewish influences can be seen in the modern AustrianKitchen.

When people think of the Austrian cuisine abroad, perhaps more often think of the country's top pastry, cakes and desserts (many of whom came from Austria, the capital, Vienna), but the country has to offer so much more.

Some popular dishes in Austria are:

- Goulash - Goulash is a stew of beef, which has its origins in Hungarian cuisine, however, Austria has accepted the court and is well suited to local tastes. Stew beef, onions and redPeppers, seasoned with paprika e.

- Gnocchi - Gnocchi traditional Austrian. This can be done in a number of different varieties of dried bread (bread dumplings), from potato (potato dumplings), or with the addition of bacon (bacon dumplings). Dumplings can be eaten as a side dish or in soups.

- Boiled - a mixture of boiled vegetables and beef.

- Wiener schnitzel - literally translated from German means "Wiener Schnitzel" Wiener Schnitzel ".The plate is dipping thin slices of meat (beef is traditional, but other meats like pork or Turkey are now quite common) in a wheat flour, eggs and breadcrumbs and then frying. The dish is traditionally served with potato salad and a slice of lemon.

Moreover, as already mentioned, Austria is justly famous for its cakes. These include:

- Apple Strudel - in English "Apple vortices are stationary. A sweet puff pastry with apples, raisins and sugar filled.Rum or cinnamon are sometimes added to the filling for extra flavor.

- Pancakes - pancakes with raisins and powdered sugar and served with fruit Shreed is cooked.

- Pancakes - A thin pancakes with apricot jam and traditional sprinked with sugar, though sometimes other fillings can be replaced.

- Sacher Torte - chocolate cake with dark chocolate and apricot jam in between.

- Vanilla - A Viennese biscuit. The cookie ismade of ground almonds or hazelnuts and flavored with vanilla. Cookies are crescent-shaped, to celebrate the origin of this legend, and one of the military victory of the Habsburgs against the Turks.
